The premier print studio at the Joseph Saxton Gallery now offers masterproofing. Masterproofing is the process of soft-proofing (editing via computer software for optimal quality) and hard-proofing (editing via printing for optimal print presentation) to create the most polished and professional output for your work. Clients may select their choice of papers from Gloss, Enhanced Matte, or Premium Luster (broader selection available at additional price). Hard proofs are printed at 10x15".

This service allows the client up to 4 revisions (5 total prints) to create the 'masterproof' of their work. Once the masterproof is created it will be kept on file at the Joseph Saxton Gallery so that future prints can be produced on demand. The file will also be made available to the client so that they may use the processing we create to edit future images, or for home hard-proofing.

Prints will be mailed to the client for review. Clients are encouraged to return the prints, using a red wax pencil to mark corrections for the next print. Clients in the Canton area are welcome to sit in on the masterproofing process with curator and photographer Stephen McNulty as time allows. We ask that clients come prepared to work as we cannot afford individuals more than 2 hours with Stephen per masterproof. Additional hours may be purchased for $50 per hour.
